Historic photos of South Walton County, Florida from about 1912 and forward. These 2 are of Western Lake by Grayton Beach in 1959.
I was born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. We lived in Grayton Beach until 1965, Then moved to Santa Rosa Beach. My father, Ed Walline, purchased land on the Choctawhatchee Bay from his uncle, and built our home. I have lived in Walton County most of my life. My father came to this area about 1912, with his parents and sister. South Walton was considered Washington County at that time.
